15 children Ages from 4-12 years from remote areas of Nepal. Gorka, Humla, Parbhat, Rosuwa.
Founder Birna Singh Rai (Niras) is 30 years old. His mother died with jaundice when he was nine years old and his family left him in Kathmandu. He found a job in the Mechi hospital. His father is still living in the Morong Urlabari village and he is blind. His wife’s name is Barsha Rai and she is 32 years old. He grew up wanting to help children in need. They employ a didi, Tertha Rai who is 26 years old and earns $50 a month.
Birna spends the whole day asking in many places and collecting small amounts of money for the children. He has a book in which he records the donations received, which are usually in the form of rice or dahl. Tertha works nearby as a house cleaner, cook and washing woman and earns $50 a month.
They have a 2 year lease and the house owner lives nearby. The adjoining land is for sale. It’s area is 12 Anna and the price is $72,000 AUS. His rented land is 8 anna in area.
