| We aim to provide people with a nurturing, relaxing, rejuvenating experience when visiting us. Whether it be for a one day workshop, a class or a weekend. If we can help you to find that inner place of peace then we have achieved our goal. This retreat centre is where our family lives, and we open up the property to yoga students, yoga teachers and friends from everywhere.
When visiting our retreat centre you will experience living a healthy lifestyle in an environmentally sensitive environment. Our centre is powered by the sun, our water is from the river, our phone and internet is via satellite. We have no mobile phone coverage. Our food is vegetarian. We ask that guests not use electronic devices, smoke, take drugs or drink alcohol while on retreat.
Mary-Louise Parkinson has been practicing yoga since the 1970's. She was first introduced to Yoga at school and has been practicing it ever since. Chris Barrington, a director of the Life Foundation and international director of Dru Yoga teacher training, described Mary-Louise as amongst the very best yoga teachers he has taught.
Mary-Louise is a very special teacher and will work with you to find out what is best for your individual requirements.
Mark McIntyre is Mary-Louise's partner and friend. As well as building the retreat
centre he develops web sites and keeps
everything running from solar power to water pumps. Originally trained as a Primary
School Teacher in Queensland, Mark followed his passion for technology and computer
programming. He has been self-employed in the IT industry for over 15 years. One
company he founded and co-ran in Sydney employed 20 programmers and was responsible
for overall Optus database maintenance. He is also trained in Holistic Counselling. Aptly, Mark and Mary-Louise
met while both attending a yoga retreat. |
