Pigeon House climb
Many people choose this activity during their first retreat. We drive you to the car park at the start of the Pigeon House climb, and usually we come along for the walk. It is about a 10 minute drive. The name used by traditional owners, Didhol, simply is the name of this amazing place, and has no inherent meaning, according to local indigenous elder Noel Butler. The Pigeon House name was in accordance with the appearance of the mountain from the ocean. "A hill was in sight which much resembled those dove houses which are built four square with a small dome at the top" - Sir Joseph Banks.

The return trip is about 4 hours allowing time for lunch at the top (which we provide). It is quite a climb and a degree of fitness is required, although most people can make the climb by taking it at their own pace. The view over the land and the sea from the top is amazing.
